Stemming from a musical family, Chantal Dionne grew up in Grand Sault, New Brunswick. She holds a bachelor degree in singing from the University of Moncton and a master degree from the Université de Montréal.
Lyric soprano with a velvet timbre, with impeccable high notes, Chantal Dionne offers her listeners an exceptional quality of voice, in which technique and musicality harmoniously blend. Whether in recital or in concert, she enchants her public with a repertoire ranging from songs to oratorio.
Chantal Dionne’s exceptional vocal talent and musicality have won her the attention of many music competitions and festivals since an award from the 2005 Montreal International Competition launched her professional career. She also obtained a triple triumph in Italy in 2005: the 1st Prize, the Audience Award and the Associazione Teatro del Opera Prize at the 56th Gian Battista Viotti International Music Competition, in Vercelli.
With her distinctive, lustrous voice and sensitive style, she is making her mark on international operatic and concert stages with her remarkably varied repertoire.
