Pro Musica

Since the very beginning in 1948, the Pro Musica musical season has always been a brilliant one and, without its series, the Montreal cultural scene would not be quite the same. Our mission: to offer Montreal music lovers a vast selection of chamber music from all repertoires and for all instruments. In the course of those sixty years, Pro Musica has presented concerts and recitals where hundreds of internationally prominent musicians from Canada and abroad were greeted with repeated applause. A multitude of works chosen from all repertoires, periods and schools were interpreted.

In addition to the first mandate, Pro Musica fulfills an educational objective by offering young brilliant artists on the brink of an international career a chance to be recognized. Furthermore, the Society has offered guidance in this world of chamber music to a young audience and distributed free tickets each year to our music faculty students. Also, for the past twenty years, Pro Musica has set aside full subscriptions for visually-impaired persons and an accompanying friend. By offering young listeners an introduction to chamber music and giving free concert tickets to students of our different Music Faculties, Pro Musica is nurturing a new generation of music lovers.
