A unique auditory and visual experience
Natural acoustics, perfect visibility wherever you are in the hall, and intimacy are the ingredients that already have made this new hall one of the most prestigious internationally! Designed to showcase any form of acoustic music and any type of group, the New Hall will not only host major symphony orchestras, but also small chamber musc ensembles, solo performers, instrumentalists, singers, and choirs.
Optimal acoustics
Built on the eastern esplanade of Place des Arts, at the corner of boulevard De Maisonneuve and rue Saint-Urbain, the Adresse Symphonique will complete Place des Arts square.
Like the precious contents of a jewel box, the hall is encased in a structural shell (the crown) and isolated from outside noise and vibration.
Videos explaining the technical features of the hall as well as outlining the various steps of its consctuction can be viewed here.
The absence of any outside noise perceptible will make it possible for music to flourish and be heard in the most favourable surroundings, while musicians will be free to express “a real spectrum of nuances” (Kent Nagano). This silence will reveal all the richness and clarity of sound by maximizing its reach. Background noise will be below the perception threshold of human hearing.
Infused exclusively by the sounds of instruments or voices, the audience will be entirely surrounded by music while enjoying a total sensory experience. In short, the exceptional acoustics of the hall are sure to win over the most discriminating music lovers. In such surroundings, they will be able to fully appreciate the virtuosity of high-class musicians and singers.
